I just noticed that E-LIS, "the open archive for library and information science" (http://eprints.rclis.org/), now contains over 7,000 documents (to be precise, 7006 as of 9:40 am MST). There are still many items that can and will be included in E-LIS in the future but 7,000 is a pretty hefty figure, I would say, and a milestone worth noting (at least in a short blog entry).
Disclosure: I am a member of the Canadian editorial team for E-LIS.
